In a first-of-its-kind step, Beitin and Mazari' Al-Nubani lay the foundations for local twinning and stronger agricultural development. In a development initiative that is the first of its kind among local councils, an official delegation from Beitin Village Council visited Mazari' Al-Nubani Village Council to explore cooperation and prepare to sign a memorandum of understanding establishing a strategic twinning relationship and exchange of expertise between the two sides. The visit aimed to learn about participatory development and the successful models achieved by Mazari' Al-Nubani Village Council, particularly its experience in establishing a local market. The two councils considered ways to transfer and apply this experience in Beitin to stimulate agriculture, support the rural economy, and strengthen farmers' resilience on their land. The meeting included extensive discussion of the planned memorandum of understanding, which will provide for reciprocal field visits, the exchange of studies and development perspectives, and joint working frameworks to improve the quality of services provided to residents of both villages. At the conclusion of the visit, both sides affirmed their commitment to continued coordination and diligent work to activate the twinning arrangement and turn it into a tangible reality that achieves sustainable development and offers a model for cooperation among local authorities.
